Basic information
SC & C Ltd. was founded in 1992 after two years of functioning as consortium under the same name. It is a purely Czech company independent of any other agent and owned by doc. RNDr. Jan Rehak and RNDr. Irena Bartova (who is also the managing director).
The company currently has 18 employees and is divided into two closely co-operating expert departments :
- research
- consultation - statistical consultation and computing, data mining, data analyses, Desk research
and one operating department.
SC & C is a member of ESOMAR, the Czech Marketing Association, and the Chamber of Commerce. Both directors are members of the Czech Statistical Society.
SC & C is ISO 9001:2001 certified for:
- market research, sociological and political research,
- consultations in statistics and research, data analysis,
- training in statistics, marketing and market research.
Our partner
The company SPSS CR, Ltd. was separated from SC & C Ltd in 1998. The companies have remained connected however, through the sharing of personnel and capital base. SPSS CR, Ltd. offers statistical software system SPSS and its components and provide, in co-operation with SC & C Ltd., all related services: sales, consulting, courses, hot-line, solving tasks of users, etc.

Activities in SC & C
SC & C's main activities involve commercial research (marketing, media, and public opinion). Traditionally, many of our projects have also involved governmental and academic research, both qualitative and quantitative. The latter is a natural consequence of the academic experience of both co-founders and the inclination to delve deeper into data and information from surveys and other data collections.
Our highly qualified staff includes experienced market researchers and analysts, sociologists, and statisticians. Our specialists take part in research, analytical and data mining projects, as well as in projects on model building (predictions, classification, segmentations, and diagnostics). They also have the opportunity to teach their practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the training courses.
As a result, we can offer a complex approach and solutions to clients' needs based on the process of designing studies, data collection and analysis, reporting, data mining and/or analysis of clients' databases for prediction and decision-making purposes, as well as building models. We also offer software that supports the carrying out of action models and the training of model users. We provide consultations support for both ad hoc and systematic situations etc.
We can cover the clients' needs either partially, by providing single research and analytical steps based on the clients' goals or in a more sophisticated way, by supporting managerial decision-making fully by providing complex research, data mining or data analytical projects. We also can provide solutions based on statistical software delivery and support of its use, including modelling, training and consultations.
Though our services include frequent realization of specific parts of the research (like data collection or recording only) and/or data processing (like tabulations), our mission is to provide a full research, data mining models, software-based solutions and training courses (statistics, marketing research methods, Focus Groups, etc.) to support managerial needs and to answers managerial questions.
We provide the various forms of research, methodologically tailor-made for a given task. The majority of our activities is, however, market research in its classical form.
